Since ancient times, Vastu shastra has guided living and building practices. Back then, knowledge was limited to Kings, Emperors, and the wealthy, those few could apply it, while most people could not.

Times changed: monarchies faded, democracy expanded freedom, and the information boom made guidance about Indian Vastu Shastra widely accessible. This transformation is truly welcome.

All content on this website is for information only; before making any decision, it is strongly recommended to consult a trusted vastu consultant.

Homes and buildings aligned with Vastu principles tend to support prosperity for their residents.

Ignoring Vastu can make progress harder. Just as the word ‘difficulty’ implies pain, ‘Vaastu’ denotes construction oriented toward prosperity and peace.

Living in Vastu-compliant premises fosters mental peace. Always seek expert advice before altering a home; without inner peace, everything else feels empty.

Wealth alone can’t buy happiness, some things, like a mother’s love, are priceless. Vaasthu ultimately supports a balanced, stable life. For instance, an aspirant working hard to become a collector may find the home’s alignment supportive of that goal.

A merchant living in a Vastu based house may also prosper. Though some argue there is no ‘Vastu shastra’, lived experience often says otherwise.

2. Vastu Shastra Is a Blind Faith or Science?

India carries many long-standing superstitions, like sneezing before leaving home, or a cat crossing the path. These arose when medical help and information were scarce.

Elsewhere, cats are simply pets; beliefs vary. When scientific understanding is lacking, isolated incidents can harden into customs meant to protect people.

Those customs may have served a purpose then, but times have changed. With doctors and medicine easily available, many such notions no longer apply. For example, “three should not go together” likely began after an unfortunate incident and turned into a rule.

From a Vastu lens, many officials do consult experts for private homes, but public or government buildings often overlook it, opening doors to inefficiency and other issues. We see the results in corruption, natural calamities, economic strain, and political instability.

Disregarding Vastu invites difficulties; following it supports prosperity, true not only in India but abroad. Japan, though small, advanced rapidly, aligning life with nature’s energies like sunlight. Where the first rays fall, prosperity is believed to follow.

Traditionally, people perform Surya Namaskara and offer argya at sunrise. Science also affirms sunlight’s benefits, strengthening infants and energizing life. Keeping the ‘Eashanya’ (Northeast) open for light is a classic Vastu recommendation that supports wellbeing.

There are countless examples showing Vastu’s scientific grounding. Today, many Vastu Consultant USA professionals actively guide people in America.

Indians abroad follow Vastu and report excellent results; even Western residents now consult experts. Numerous vastu websites are being launched to guide people across North America.

Directions Information

Directions are fundamental to Vastu Shastra: East, West, North, and South. Facing the sun is East; behind is West; left is North; right is South. These basics are familiar, but Vastu adds nuanced, practical implications for daily life.

Complete Details of Directions:

Facing sunrise is East; behind is West; to the left is North; to the right is South. ‘Eesanya’ is the Northeast corner (where East meets North). ‘Agneya’ is the Southeast corner (East meets South). ‘Vayuvya’ is the Northwest corner, and ‘Niruthi’ is the Southwest corner. Together, these are the eight directions (‘Astadikkulu’).

Vastu also recognizes Sky and Earth, making ten directions in total. Each is influenced by a planetary force. In astrology, Kethu is associated with Guru (Jupiter) in ‘Eesanya’; accordingly, the Northeast should be spacious and clean, an idea echoed in Vastu.

Vastu Shastra Purana - Vastu Purusha:

In ancient lore, the rakshasa Andhakasura troubled the three worlds. To protect beings, Lord Shiva fought him. During the battle, a drop of divine sweat fell to earth, becoming a vast, terrifying form that threatened the universe. Alarmed, the gods (God Wallpapers) appealed to Brahma, who advised pinning the being to the ground.

They subdued it head-down, with the head toward Eeshanya (Northeast), feet at Niruthi (Southwest), and limbs extended. Brahma then consecrated this being as ‘Vastu Purusha’ and ordained that during construction, homes, villages, cities, forts, temples, water works, gardens, he must first be honored; neglecting him invites difficulty and poverty.

Brahma assigned deities to directions: Eswara (Northeast), Agni (Southeast), Niruthi (Southwest), Vaayu (Northwest), Aditya (East), Yama (South), Varuna (West), and Kubera (North). When respected, these energies confer wealth, harmony, and comfort upon residents.

Accordingly, Vasthu Shastra prescribes functions by direction: Agneya, kitchen; Niruthi, heavy instruments; Vayuvya, free designs/airflow; East, acts pleasing to Aditya; South, Yama’s domain, so avoid sleeping with the head to the North; East supports prosperity, etc. Constructions vary, human dwellings, royal buildings, temples, and public structures, each with appropriate measures.

Effects of Vaastu Shastra

Vastu is universal, like sunlight, its influence reaches everyone. Effects may appear quickly or gradually, depending on the environment. Like air, unseen yet essential, Vastu’s presence is pervasive, especially for occupants.
